we found a very nice foreclosed home last week in a great neighborhood. unfortunately, it was midway through a renovation and we don't want to spend the money needed to fix everything. so i've been browsing online again for houses and i think i've found one that could be a good possibility. (i know it's too soon to fall in love and start planning for the house, but it's just not as much fun!)
the outside could use some updating with cute potted plants and new paint (we're surprisingly not into the '70s beige and dark brown.)
we also wouldn't keep the blue carpets. i imagine something like a warm dark tan color on the walls, bamboo floors and crown moulding.
the living room and dining room are combined into a great room so the bamboo floors would probably extend everywhere but the bedrooms.
i love the big windows looking out into the side yard! they've put an effort into keeping the yard nice.

the master bedroom has more recessed lighting and seems to have enough room for a queen sized bed.

Bamboo floors are cool. That house looks really neat. I looked up the address on GoogleMaps, and that area is really central! Good luck!

Wow! That's so exciting, Jenny! This home looks really, really great. Man, buying a home for us was such a roller coaster ride. I pray that you'll be spared lots of drama and just end up with the perfect place right off the bat! :)
My only advice would be: if this house doesn't work out, don't sign a new lease for your apartment. Because if you and Michael are really interested, you'll keep looking and then, if you find something and make an offer, you'll get stuck with either breaking the lease (which, in our case would've been very expensive) or maintaining the lease.
If you're able to do month-to-month after May, then go for it. But hopefully you won't have to! :) Have fun, and best of luck!!
It looks like ya'll are in the same place my husband and I are in. Our apt lease is up the beginning of June and we're looking at houses. This one looks GREAT! I love the patio and backyard especially. Good luck and I really hope it works out for ya'll! Now I will have to go put up pictures of the house we're interested in. Good idea :-)

That's my parent's house design! The interior is a little different but the exterior is exact! garage, entryway, two windows. Must have been from the same cookie-cutter. But from my experience living in that house from the age of 12 I think you'll like it :)
