springtime.

i got bit by the gardening-bug so i decided to plant these little butterfly seedlings a few days ago and i'm so glad they're already popping up. i love baby plants! aren't they adorable? i haven't grown anything from a seed for a few years so it's nice to see they're doing so well (so far.) like my painted pot? :)

also, last week i thought that the porch was looking a little bare so i bought two new plants to brighten it up a bit.

joey, proudly showing his favorite pink geranium. (this one's for you momma!)

i thought this was cute. joey is so easily upset by big loud crows.

my beautiful gardenia should (hopefully) start blooming next month.

Joey looks so proud. :)

Right now I have tons of little blue forget-me-nots coming up in pots. They are leftovers from your wedding. Remember how I planted them to have some extra blue flowers to place around the pergola. Unfortunately, the timing didn't quite work out for June. So now, every year, they pop up to remind me of my blunder.

Flowers are like kids ... they are never mistakes.

aw that was cute, momma.

and jenny, this post is so apt, I also did gardening, just repotted some herbies yesterday. cherry tomato is in the yard now; rosemary, thyme & sage are on the steps (sounds like i have hippy children sitting outside); and sweet marjoram and fennel are here next to my desk, Lord knows we need cleaner air inside. :) hurray for spring, even though the summer will be dreadful this year.

oh also, i have a bunch of mixed herb seeds (basil, oregano, chive), there's extra if you want to plant some of 'em in a big ol' pot. :)

first of all, it's "sage, rosemary and thyme" :) second, i would love to have a big pot of herbs in the kitchen. are they able to grow well indoors too?

Do you think we could get an updated picture of those seedlings
every week? It's so fun to watch them grow!

Give that adorable little granddoggy a hug for me.

Love to you all,
Julie (mom-in-law, mom)
